Maki Akamatsu (赤松 麻紀, Akamatsu Maki) is a supporting character in the Sound! Euphonium series. She is a student at Kitauji High School in the same year as Kumiko Oumae who plays trombone in the school's concert band.

Appearance

Maki has short dark brown hair and purple eyes.

Personality

As a minor character, she has a very small role in the anime series. Maki usually appears with the rest of trombone players. She loves the trombone and encourages new band members by passionately talking about the instrument.

Etymology

• The name Maki means "hemp, flax" (麻) (ma) and "hope" (紀) (ki).
• Maki's surname Akamatsu means "red" (赤) (aka) and "pine tree, fir tree" (松) (matsu).
