Michiko Machida (町田 道子, Machida Michiko) is a supporting character in the Sound! Euphonium series. She is a student at Kitauji High School one year below Kumiko Oumae who is a percussionist in the school's concert band.
Appearance[]
Machiko has short black hair with bangs swept to sides revealing her forehead, side ponytail and is adorned with a blue ribbon.
Personality[]
Michiko wanted to play the trumpet, but she moved to the percussion section since it's more subdued and doesn't stand out as much.[1]
Etymology[]
- The name Michiko means "path" (道) (michi) and "child" (子) (ko).
- Michiko's surname Machida means "town, village, block, street" (町) (machi) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
