Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc (特別編 響け！ユーフォニアム～アンサンブルコンテスト～ Tokubetsuhen Hibike! Yūfoniamu: Ansanburu Kontesuto) is a Sound! Euphonium film released in Japan on August 4, 2023. It is also known as Ancon, short for Ansanburu Kontesuto as referenced to by the club members.
Synposis[]
With winter approaching, 2nd-year student Kumiko has become president of the concert band after the 3rd-year leadership retired to work on studying for college entrance exams. Shuuichi is vice president.
The members of the concert band prepare for a music competition in December. They have to form ensembles of 2 to 8 players. The high school is holding a competition after which the winning ensemble will go on to represent the school at the Kyoto prefectural competition. Reina leads a brass & percussion ensemble, but they struggle due to the inexperience of Tsubame on marimba and Hazuki on tuba. Kumiko has to help them improve while simultaneously fulfilling the responsibilities of club president.
