It was first published by Kono Manga ga Sugoi! on their website in 2016 before being edited as the second tankōbon. It contains a total of 16 chapters.

The manga was made by Hami with credits to [[Ayano Takeda]] for the original story and Nikki Asada for character concepts.

==Volume 1==
The first volume contains 8 chapters that were published on the website from January to April of 2016. Before the first chapter, it starts with a few pages summing up the Prefectural competition. It also has a summary of the characters.

===Chapter 1: Welcome back Euphonium===
The first chapter, {{Nihongo|'''Welcome back Euphonium'''|おかえりユーフォニアム|Okaeri Yūfoniamu}}, starts off on a flashback from the previous year. [[Mizore Yoroizuka]] comes to band practice only to discover that [[Nozomi Kasaki]] has quit the club. Back to the present, the bass section celebrates on the A group reaching the Kansai competition, and the B group winning gold, and how much things have changed since last year and how the Kansai competition will be harder in order to reach nationals. After practice, Reina exceptionally goes home with Kumiko, and they decide to come together earlier to school to practice more. The next day they arrive early and go ask Taki for the key to the room but Mizore already got it even earlier.

===Chapter 2: Quiet Oboe===
In {{nihongo|'''Quiet Oboe'''|むくちなオーボエ|Mukuchi na Ōboe}}, Kumiko and Reina enter the classroom early morning and see Mizore already practicing oboe. A few minutes later [[Asuka Tanaka]] and [[Yuuko Yoshikawa]] also come in. Kumiko then talks with Asuka about the relationship between Mizore and Yuuko, while Asuka cannot help herself but mention Kumiko and Reina's. During group practice Taki introduces [[Masahiro Hashimoto]] to the band. Hashimoto will be giving advice to the band so they can get even better for the next competition.

===Chapter 3: Turbulent Flute===
{{Nihongo|'''Turbulent Flute'''|はらんのフルート}} sees [[Nozomi Kasaki]] appear. She comes to the bass section so that she can speak to Asuka, however Natsuki interrupts telling her she had to wait. Asuka also tell her off. Nozomi appears later at the end of a practice to ask for permission to talk with Asuka, wich she dismisses. She asks to rejoin the club. The seniors also mention some of the events of the previous year.

===Chapter 4: Gradually ''Pesante''===
At the start of {{Nihongo|'''Gradually ''Pesante'''''|だんだんペザンテ}}<ref group="note">[https://www.m5music.hk/en/dictionary/pesante/ Pesante]</ref>, Nozomi once again asks Asuka formally for her permission to rejoin the club, that she had quit. Asuka still refuses to approve, asking if she is going to keep asking every day. But Nozomi wants Asuka's approval as she is special to her. As the first years leave the room to let them talk, they talk with the band president, [[Haruka Ogasawara]] who knows of the situation. But [[Yuuko Yoshikawa]] overhears them and seems worried about [[Mizore Yoroizuka]] though she pretends everything is fine. However Mizore overhears them and leave brutally. Right after Kumiko stumbles upon Mizore in pain in a corner near the staircase. She says she is feeling sick.  The two of them then hear a distant flute and Mizore proceeds to leave, stumbling slightly, and saying she is okay. Kumiko investigates the sound and finds out it is from Nozomi.

===Chapter 5: Ornament in the Night Sky===
In {{Nihongo|'''Ornament in the Night Sky'''|よぞらにアドルナメンテ|Yozora ni Adorunamente}}<ref group="note">[https://www.m5music.hk/en/dictionary/ornamentation/ Ornament]</ref>, Kumiko, after reminiscing her past, puts on a yukata so that she can go to the Agata festival. She meets with Reina, also in a yukata, and they both stroll through the festival, eating and talking together.

===Chapter 6: Sudden ''Angst''===
{{Nihongo|'''Sudden ''Angst'''''|とつぜんアングスト|Totsuzen Angusuto}} marks the last day of band practice before a two day break. The band has a hard last practice under Taki's instructions. After practice, Kumiko stays a bit longer so that she can speak to Mizore. She makes sure she is feeling right again and fails at starting small talk. Taki then enters the room and gives them both green tea as refreshments, asking them not to tell the others. Kumiko asks about how hard he works since he is at school from dawn to dusk, but she feels something is off with his answers. When she gets home, [[Mamiko Oumae]] is there. She clashes with Kumiko over band activities saying she needs to study more, while Kumiko asks why she is even home. Kumiko goes to her room, exhausted, when she receives a message from Midori asking her to go to the pool the next day.

===Chapter 7: Midsummer Innocence===
The Kitauji quartet goes to the pool of Taiyo Park<ref group="note">The park is called {{nihongo|Taiyo|太陽公園|Taiyō Kōen}}, referencing its real life counterpart {{nihongo|Taiyogaoka|太陽が丘|Taiyō ga oka}}, literally ''Sunny hill'' </ref> in {{Nihongo|'''Midsummer Innocence'''|まなつのインノチェンテ|Manatsu no In'nochente}}. Reina gets to talk with Midori about her middle school before they stumble upon Kaori and Asuka. After an exchange between the six the seniors leave. Kumiko then decides to go buy ice creams, but she encounters Nozomi at the vending machine. As Kumiko starts asking question about why she want to rejoin the club, Nozomi invites her to sit and talk.

===Chapter 8: Painful Apparition===
In {{Nihongo|'''Painful Apparition'''|せつないアップリツィオーネ|Setsunai Appuritsiōne}}, Nozomi explains the whole situation to Kumiko. Why she quit the year before because the band was not serious, why she wants Asuka's approval to rejoin and all. After that, Kumiko offers her help to Nozomi, even though she says it is not necessary.

After the two day break is over, the band starts their three day summer camp.

==Volume 2==
The second volume contains 8 chapters first published from May to September 2016 on the website. As well as a summary of the main characters, it also contains an extra segment of character designs by Hami.

===Chapter 9: Tempestuous ''Dolore''===

During lunch everyone is already worn up except for Midori who enjoys her food, when the news arrive that Taki's wife showed up, leaving Reina shocked. It turns out it's a new teacher, [[Satomi Niiyama]], here to assist Taki. That night, as Kumiko and Midori leave the baths, they meet Midori and they discuss the new teacher and her instructions methods. In the middle of that night, Kumiko cannot get herself to sleep so she sneaks out and goes to sit outside while listening to the {{w|Daphnis et Chloé}} suite. She is interrupted by Mizore asking her to stop this song as she hates it. Kumiko asks her about why she joined the band. But Mizore goes on to say how much she hates music competitions. Kumiko tries to say something but Mizore concludes by saying that she does not understand.

===Chapter 10: Flickering ''Animo''===

She comes across the third year executives holding a meeting about the band and decides she'll do her best at the next competition. The next day, [[Masahiro Hashimoto]] is introduced as another assistant teacher for the band. During he makes a lot of comments to the band, and criticizes Mizore's playing for being too robotic. That night at lunch, Mizore tells Asuka she does not get it. Kumiko walks in and Mizore leaves for the baths. Left alone, Kumiko asks Asuka about Nozomi and Mizore. Asuka then goes on to detail her thoughts about Nozomi.
