Sousuke Maeda (前田 颯力, Maeda Sōsuke) is a supporting character in the Sound! Euphonium series. He is a student at Kitauji High School one year below Kumiko Oumae who is a percussionist in the school's concert band.

Sousuke has spiky brown hair and indigo blue eyes.
Personality[]
Sousuke expects to be the double aces of the percussion section with his older twin brother Aota Maeda.[1]
Etymology[]
- The name Sousuke means "sudden, sound of the wind" (颯) (sou) and "force, power, strength, ability, energy, emphasis, stress, capability, might, assistance, vigor, means, support, courage, faculty, effectiveness, exertions, agency, endeavors, efficacy, attainment, nerve, good, offices, resources, authority" (力) (suke).
- Sousuke's surname Maeda means "previous/previously, before, earlier, front/in front, former, above, one-time, fore part, privy parts/privates, miss, presence, portion, for, since, forward" (前) (mae) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
Trivia[]
- In contrast to Aota Maeda, Sousuke is more into fine arts and he is poor at studying that he relies on Aota before tests.[1]
